Uncommon Design: The Asian-Shaker Influence - Contact us to get wood sample(s) and shipping quote
It's certainly not a historical note—only in today's modern workshop do the traditional woodworking skills of far-east artisans cross the minds of craftsman working with native wood in the northern United States. This is exactly what's happened in the creation of Maple Corner's Harvestmoon Dovetail Bed. The lines are simple, low, and arresting, creating a sleep platform that carries the beauty and craftsmanship of natural hardwood furniture into any ultra-contemporary space. Or, to go the other way with this approach, the Harvestmoon Dovetail can instantly update any colonial home environment without creating a clash. It's a blend of cultures and a blend of styles.
Moreover, the wood for these beds has been carefully selected note only for quality, but for sustainability. So, like the furniture of old, you can expect a Maple Corner bed to last for an exceptionally long time, and you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with supporting a small manufacturer you know is committed to responsible practices.
It's hard to beat the longevity of hardwood and the cleanliness it brings to your home, and with that said the keen design of these pieces, which Maple Corner describes as "honest and delicate," ensures an uncommon level of fashionable integrity—something that will not only always be around, but that you'll also always want to be around.
Furniture from Maple Corner Woodworks is customizable beyond the standard options provided on our site. We will look forward to working with you to achieve a unique, built-to-order piece, either by phone or by contacting us through e-mail.

Maple: The sapwood from hard northern maple trees is preferred for its figured detail and rich, golden color.
Cherry: Heartwood is used exclusively throughout each piece.
Walnut: Heartwood is once again used exclusively in each piece. Note there is additional cost associated with building any piece of furniture from walnut.
These beds are designed to support a mattress without a box spring, doing so by means of ten (10) hardwood slats that lock into the side rails through hardwood dowels. King sizes use a hardwood backbone for added rigidity. In either case, the entirety of the bed remains open underneath, promoting a light aesthetic uncommon to solid hardwood furniture.
Guarantee: Every piece of Maple Corner Woodworks furniture is guaranteed for as long as you own it. These pieces are built to last for generations, and Maple Corner are willing to stand behind this claim.
Care & Maintenance:
Maple Corner does not recommend the use of commercial polishes or waxes. Use a clean cotton cloth to wipe off dust from natural wood. For maintenance, apply linseed oil (or a high quality furniture oil that contains no petroleum dryers or thinners) approximately once every six to twelve months. Regular oiling deepens the glow of the wood and restores the finish from abrasions.
Maple Corner Woodworks furniture is made by expert craftsman in Calais, Vermont.

Stepping into the world of green products and services can be an adventure, a bit like landing in an unknown country with a new language, a new way of thinking, and no travel guide. Knowing that feeling, we've done the research, explored the industry standards, and created WorkingWonders™ green guide to help you map your journey to healthier living. All of our products are carefully selected and identified according to WorkingWonders' eight green values for creating clean spaces. Each of our product descriptions will help you make informed decisions and quickly pick the eco-standards that mean the most to you.
